Giegelbét is our fourth batch of Single Malt Whisky. Like previous batches, we have chosen to bottle this batch at cask strenght.
All our batches of Single Malt Whisky have a unique name from our local dialect. Giegelbét means giggling girl in our dialect. We thought this was an appropriate name for this young and fruity whisky.

BATCH NR. 1
We believe Giegelbét is a whisky with grassy, floral and fruity flavours that also contains notes of red peppers, hazelnut and dark chocolate. The long finish leaves a taste of red fruits in your mouth.
TASTING NOTES
The Laureate spring barley was sown on a cold and foggy morning on Sunday, 28th February 2021.
SAWN
2021 was a warm year and we could harvest our barley already mid summer on Wednesday afternoon, 4th August 2021.
HARVESTING
The spring barley grew on Klein Amerika, 500 metres from our distillery. Next to Bas Beyer's asparagus land.

Batch 4 incorporated four mash runs. We start with a first water of 63 degrees Celsius followed by a second water of 70 degrees Celsius.
MASHING
For batch 4, we used a combination of whisky and red wine yeast and a long fermentation time of 160 hours in a stainless steel fermenter.
FERMENTING
Batch 4 is double distilled including 24 wash runs and 6 spirit runs in our Holstein still.
DOUBLE DISTILLED
Six spirit runs in February and March 2023 of 4 hours each resulting in an average run of 32 litres with an alcohol content of 70.3% ABV
SPIRIT RUNS
Non chill filtered and bottled on April 14th 2027. All natural color!
BOTTLED
Batch 4 is completely hand crafted by Benny and Robert the two owners and head distillers of Klein America Distillery. We produce our whisky on Saturdays in our small farm distillery in Groesbeek, the Netherlands. We are independent and make our whisky free spirited.
