Giegelbét is our fourth batch of Single Malt Whisky, and just like the previous releases, we’ve chosen to bottle it at cask strength to fully preserve its intense character and depth. All our Single Malt Whisky batches carry a unique name inspired by our local dialect. "Giegelbét," meaning "giggling girl," felt like the perfect fit for this young and fruity whisky. Its playful, vibrant character mirrors the lighthearted charm of its name, making every sip a delightful experience.

One of only 247 exclusive bottles, filled on April 14th, 2027 at cask strenght 56,4% ABV. Non-chill filtered and presented in its all-natural color.
BATCH NR. 1
We believe Giegelbét is a whisky that truly captivates the senses with its vibrant grassy, floral, and fruity flavors. It unfolds layers of complexity, revealing delightful notes of red peppers, roasted hazelnuts, and rich dark chocolate. The experience culminates in a long, satisfying finish, leaving behind a lingering taste of ripe red fruits, inviting you to savor every moment.
TASTING NOTES
The Laureate spring barley was carefully sown on a cold and foggy Sunday morning, February 28th, 2021. Grown just 500 meters from our distillery, this barley flourished on the fertile land of Klein Amerika, right next to Bas Beyer’s renowned asparagus fields (51-45'31N 05-55'04E). The unique combination of local soil and climate creates the perfect foundation for a whisky that reflects the very essence of our region..
SAWN
2021 was a warm year and we could harvest our barley already mid summer on Wednesday afternoon, 4th August 2021.
HARVESTING
Batch 4 incorporated four mash runs. We start with a first water of 63 degrees Celsius followed by a second water of 70 degrees Celsius.
MASHING
For batch 4, we used a combination of whisky and red wine yeast and a long fermentation time of 160 hours in a stainless steel fermenter.
FERMENTING
Batch 4 is double distilled including 24 wash runs and 6 spirit runs in our Holstein still.
DOUBLE DISTILLED
Six spirit runs in February and March 2023 of 4 hours each resulting in an average run of 32 litres with an alcohol content of 70.3% ABV
SPIRIT RUNS
Batch 4 is entirely handcrafted by Benny and Robert, the passionate owners and head distillers of Klein America Distillery. Every drop of this whisky is a testament to their dedication and expertise.
